Thirteenth AC Serbia Assembly was held in hotel “Grand”, Kopaonik on October 24-25, 2011. Along with the annual meeting, a Conference took place which gathered representatives from national and international institutions, as well as the regional automotive clusters. According to the agenda, the minutes from the 12th Assembly were adopted and the following new members verified: Ewes Europe East doo, Zastava Inpro and Golas doo. After the briefing on the activities realized in the first three quarters of 2011, the work plan for the following period was presented.
The participants presented the following topics within Conference’s program for Day one:
- “Cluster development and opportunities for collaboration with MERR”, Ms. Zorica Marić (Ministry of Economy and Regional Development)
- “Trends and foreign investments in Serbian auto-industry”, Mr. Vladimir Tomić (SIEPA)
- “Strengthening competitiveness through an innovative approach”, Mr. Tomislav Knežević (GIZ)
- “The significance of institutional support in cluster development”, Professor Slobodan Morača (Center for competitiveness and cluster development, FTN Novi Sad)
- “Lean Production – Philosophy of running production companies"
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by automotive clusters from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia regarding impending regional cooperation and the establishment of a regional automotive cluster with headquarters in Serbia. Mr. Branko Mihalić presented Croatian auto-industry with a special focus on E-mobility. Mr. Krunoslav Rašić advised the audience on the activities of the auto-industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On Day two of the Conference, presentations were held by AC Serbia’s partners on the RSEDP2 Project: “Creating sustainable employment and income generation possibilities for the Serbian regions by enhanced productivity and market access for small and medium sized automotive component manufacturers“:
- “The opportunities for cooperation provided by NARD”, Ms. Ana Žegarac (National Agency for Regional Development)
- “Resource efficient and cleaner production”, Dr. Branko Dunjić (CPCS – Cleaner Production Centre of Serbia)
ICT Cluster Manager, Mr. Milan Šolaja highlighted the significance of IT in automotive industry, while Vojvodina Metal Cluster Manager, Mr. Zoran Pekez elaborated on the experience and results of the current VMC RSEDP2 project.
